Content Management

September 18th, 2008 by Matt Janzen

Overhaul Media produces most websites with a content management system (”CMS”). What does that mean? It means that someone within your company can update text, images or other predefined items on your website from an online editor, much like formatting an email from outlook or webmail. There is a certain level of computer proficiency involved but no code wrangling at all!

Below are some key advantages of our CMS platform.

  • User Friendly – Easy to update using our simple WYSIWYG editor.
  • Search Engine Friendly – Important now everyone is clawing for the top ten search results.
  • Flexible Platform – Everyones needs are different so we can easily adapt our system to fit yours.
  • Performance – When traffic spikes you need to know your website can handle it, we’ll make sure it will.
  • Structure – Content Management is all about structure, our system has a well defined structure for scalability and stability.
  • Respects web and typographic standards – Write in text, knowing it will get converted to standards-compliant code, complete with typographically correct punctuation.
  • Some of the largest sites you probably visit are powered by wordpress! CNN/ZDNET/ETC
  • Analytics – We integrate analytics tracking for all sites we build. Read more about Google Analytics here

Overhaul Media makes it better when you belong

Top Cruise Club Logo

Overhaul Media has been working with the Top Cruise Club located in Fort Lauderdale, FL for years. They recently wanted to take their members area to the next level so we went straight to the drawing board. (And yes, we do have white boards all OVER our office) We starting thinking about features that we can offer exclusively to the members that will entice non members to sign up. We thought that we already sell cruises, so why don’t we offer exclusive deals to members. This was a good start, but we took it one, no two steps further.

We developed a system that mathematically calculates the best possible deals for our members. When you go view the ‘Caribbean’ destination page you will find the best possible cruise deals. Now don’t be mistaken thinking we are just manually putting these deals in there because we are not, we created an algorithm that searches through the 9000+ of the sailings and calculates the best price/day ratio. If we left it there all we would get is the lower end cruise lines and short cruises. The system then gives each sailing a rank based on a pre-defined value per cruise line or destination and we spit them out  on a page for you to view! Read more …
